The Actors’ Chapel Choir, under the direction of Dr. Stephen Fraser, is an inspiring all-volunteer vocal ensemble comprised of approximately 40 dedicated artists and professionals from the Broadway community and beyond. The choir sings for the Sunday 11am Mass, and also performs for the greater community through the parish’s dynamic concert series and programming. Over the years, they have also participated in events at Carnegie Hall, The Beacon Theatre, Radio City Music Hall, and The United Nations’ General Assembly Prayer Service. Past performances at St. Malachy’s – The Actors’ Chapel include The Fauré Requiem (2017), The Rutter Requiem (2018), The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins (2019), Requiem by Dan Forrest (2022), Sunrise Mass by Ola Gjeilo (2023), as well as annual performances, such as the Christmas Concert and Pageant, the Irish Celebration Concert, and the End-of-Year Cabaret. St. Malachy’s – The Actors’ Chapel is also home to Broadway Blessing; an interfaith service of song, story, and dance, that marks the beginning of the new Broadway season. In addition, Concerts at St. Malachy’s reaches a broad audience and serves as the venue for such eminent musical groups as The Broadway Chamber Players, The American Modern Ensemble, The Gotham Early Music Scene, The Salvatones, Central City Chorus, Musica Sacra, and Ember Choral Arts.
